3D logo animation and brand motion, built on material and timing

3D logo animation is where a brand mark earns its weight — the moment your logo stops being flat and starts catching light like a real object. I'm a solo art director and 3D motion designer, and I treat brand motion the way good hardware treats a surface: material and timing over gimmicks. A mark rendered with this much care reads as premium on its own, with no story bolted on.

How it works

  1. 01

    Brief & the mark

I start with your logo and brand: what it stands for, where the reveal will run, and the feeling it should leave. A good logo animation is short, so every frame counts — I lock the one idea it needs to land.

  2. 02

    Art direction & styleframes

I set the look in still frames first — material, lighting, palette, the final resting shot. You approve the direction on frames before a single expensive render, so the heavy work only happens on an approved look.

  3. 03

    Look development

This is where the mark becomes an object. I build materials and a controlled lighting set until your logo reads as real — a hard edge throwing a highlight as it turns, a rim of light pulling it out of the dark.

  4. 04

    Animation & timing

A reveal lives on timing. I pace it like a breath — anticipation, a single beat, a clean settle — so the logo feels inevitable when it lands rather than rushed or dragged.

  5. 05

    Render, grade & delivery

Final render with alpha, colour grade, and export in the ratios and codecs you need — ready to sit at the top of a film or run on its own.

What a 3D logo animation costs

As a rough guide for a solo senior specialist: a focused 3D logo reveal — one polished mark, clean materials, a single hero shot — typically runs $800–$2,500. A fuller brand-motion package with custom materials, several idents and social loops sits around $2,500–$6,000+. Cost depends on how complex your mark is, the materials involved, how many deliverables you need and the turnaround. I quote a fixed price per project after seeing the logo.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a 3D logo animation take?
A single reveal usually takes one to three weeks; a broader brand-motion package a little longer. Rush jobs are sometimes possible on a simple mark — flag the deadline early.
What do you need from me to start?
A vector version of your logo (SVG, AI or EPS) and your brand colours. If you have brand guidelines or reference for the mood you're after, even better.
Can you animate a 2D logo in 3D?
Yes — that's most of this work. I take a flat vector mark and rebuild it as a real object with depth, material and light. Some marks suit extrusion; others become metal, glass or paint. I'll advise what fits yours.
How many revisions are included?
You approve the look at the styleframe stage and the motion before final render. Two rounds of notes are standard; a full change of direction is scoped separately.
What's the difference between a logo animation and brand motion?
A logo animation is the reveal itself. Brand motion is the wider system around it — idents, transitions, loops and a consistent way your brand moves across everything. I do both, and one often grows into the other.
Do you work with agencies?
Regularly. I plug into your pipeline as the 3D and direction hand, working to your brand and your client's. One accountable person, clear timelines.
Do you work remotely and internationally?
Yes — I'm based in Kyiv and work worldwide, entirely over shared review links and calls.
